SPIDER CONTROL

Spiders can be a particular nuisance in the home. They are attracted to warm, dark small spaces, like wall cracks, corners, air vents, and in the eaves of your home.  They leave a bit of mess too.

Other spider species prefer to stay closer to the outdoors, weaving their webs in your garden or near your outside lighting. Most spiders are a nuisance primarily because of their webbing.

What Are the Common Spider Species?

There are a wide variety of spider species but some spiders are toxic to humans.

Sydney and Northern Rivers Funnel Web Spider

This spider is around 30mm long and is black with fine reddish hairs. They live in silk funnel webs often on or in the ground. This spider is very aggressive and its bite is toxic to humans. If bitten medical attention should be sought immediately.

Sydney Brown Trapdoor Spider

This spider is not considered as aggressive as the funnel web, nor is it toxic to humans. However, its bite is extremely painful. They live on or in the ground and use leaf litter as a trap door to their web.

Wolf Spider

This spider is mottled grey and brown with a Union Jack appearance on its abdomen. Some may render a toxic bite to humans which will be painful for a short period of time.

Redback Spider

The male spider is small, only 3mm and the female is a lot larger around 12mm. Only the females bite which is toxic to humans. This spider is black and some have a red stripe on their dorsal surface. If bitten seek medical advice.

Black House Spider

The female spider is around 18mm and is dark brown to black. The female tends to spin webs in sheds, toilets, and around windows and guttering. Not aggressive, but a bite is toxic and will cause pain, nausea, and sweating.

Whitetail Spider

This spider has a long thorax around 18mm. Its abdomen is grey to black with a white mark on the end of its abdomen. It is not aggressive, and is often found in bathrooms. A bite from this spider will leave a painful blister which will slowly kill the surrounding tissue and may require hospitalisation.

Other

Orb weaving spiders such as Garden Orb-weaving, St Andrews Cross, Leaf-curling, and Golden-orb are not known to be toxic to humans. They do not tend to be aggressive and are more inclined to shy away from humans.

COCKROACH CONTROL

When we carry out a Cockroach Control treatment we include the internal, external and roof void (if applicable) of the property.

Cockroaches are attracted to buildings where there is food, moisture and, in colder climates, warmth. They feed on a wide range of human foods and also organic materials such as cardboard, glue, faeces, dead animals and fellow cockroaches. They can pick up diseases from the filth in their surroundings and readily transmit them onto food and surfaces.

A professional service is usually the most reliable means of cockroach control. Only professional products and solutions are powerful enough to eliminate all stages of their lifecycle.

RODENT CONTROL

Rats can be very persistent and if they manage to gain access into your home or business they can spread diseases, cause considerable damage and contaminate food.

  • Rats can damage your home’s insulation.
  • They can chew through floor joists and walls.
  • They can cause fires by chewing on electrical cables.
  • Rats can undermine hill sides, retaining walls and other similar structures through their burrowing activity.

Areas with children or pets can present a health risk.

WASP REMOVAL & BEE OPTIONS

How we control Wasps

We apply a product directly onto the nest which kills the wasps on impact which has a very fast kill rate. It also ensures that wasps out foraging for food on returning and landing on the nest will also pick up the product, which will very quickly lead to total nest eradication.

Bee recommendation

Bees are extremely important in maintaining and balancing life on earch.  Nature relies heavily on bees to aid in the reproduction of earth’s flora.  Bees are in decline and it is critical that they not be destroyed, but be relocated by a Bee Specialist.

We recommend using a specialist Beekeeper and we can arrange to provide details if required.

SILVERFISH CONTROL

Silverfish love hiding in dark storage areas, walls, furniture and are not always easy to see.  They will eat through clothing, your books, paperwork and fabrics. They also love the contents of your pantry because they will eat grains and cereals, as well as the box it came in!

They can live up to 4 years; they come out at night to feed.

FLEA CONTROL

Getting rid of fleas can be a slow process due to the life cycle of fleas.  An adult female lays approximately eight eggs every blood meal. She can live between 100 and 500 days and therefore can lay several hundred eggs in her lifetime.  Eggs take one to two weeks to reach adulthood. Warm, humid conditions are favourable, like for example your cat or dog, or your pet’s bed.

Once the fleas find a nice spot like your bed, your clothes or your carpets, they will populate in no time if untreated.

If you are leaving a rental property and have had pets, it is usual for a Flea Treatment to be carried out before you leave the property.

An inspection will be made of the property before treatment begins to ensure that all relevant areas are treated.
